Eligibility

To be eligible for the Measure to support grain corn producers in mitigating the impact of the 2019 rise in propane prices in Québec, your business must:

• be registered with the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation in compliance with the Regulation respecting the registration of agricultural operations and the payment of property taxes and compensations;
• have harvested at least one hectare of grain corn after the Canadian National Railway employees started the strike on November 19, 2019;
• apply for eligible crop areas.

Eligible areas are those from which grain corn was harvested starting on November 19, 2019, and dried, or planned to be dried, with propane.

Consequently, the following areas are not eligible:

• Grain corn areas abandoned or not harvested at the time of application;
• Grain corn areas intended for the high-moisture grain corn market;
• Areas of grain corn meant to be dried with a source of energy other than propane.
