With our Financial Support Program for Aspiring Farmers, we help young producers establish themselves on an existing farm or start a new business.

Which grant matches your business plan?

The Full-time Grant seeks to:

Facilitate your full-time establishment;
Encourage you to acquire agricultural, administration, or management training;
Grant you financial support of between $20,000 and $50,000.

The Part-time Grant seeks to:

Facilitate your part-time start-up;
Encourage you to acquire agricultural, administration, or management training;
Grant you financial support of between $10,000 and $25,000.

What can the grant be used for?

Both grants can be used for productive investments at your operation, such as:

Land improvement;
Equipment purchase;
Etc.

Training level 1, examples: Bachelor's of Science in agriculture, administration, or management Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in farm management and operations Other equivalent diplomas	$50,000	$25,000
Training level 2, examples: Bachelor's degree in a field related to agriculture, administration, or management DCS in administration Other equivalent diplomas	$30,000	$15,000
Training level 3, examples: Bachelor's degree or DCS in another field Attestation of Collegial Studies or a recognized certificate A Secondary School Vocational Diploma (SSVP) in agriculture Secondary School Graduation Diploma or SSVP other than in agriculture (combined with recognized training)	$20,000	$10,000
