Complementary assistance measure for certain horticultural crops affected during the 2023 growing season
The complementary horticultural measure is designed to provide financial support to horticultural companies producing market garden produce, fruit and canned vegetables that were particularly hard hit by excessive rainfall during the 2023 growing season.
It provides additional funding to growers who suffered damage that affected the profitability of their company.
This is an exceptional, one-time intervention that complements the Agri-stabilité and Agri-Québec Plus programs.
Horticultural companies whose primary production is one or more eligible products and who participate in the Agri-Québec Plus program.
Eligible agricultural products fall into the following categories:
Companies must have two or more participants and have filed a financial statement.
See detailed eligibility conditions (French only).
No action is required on the behalf of companies.
All eligible companies will have their files automatically analyzed to determine whether financial assistance should be provided.
File analysis will begin in October 2024 and continue until December 2025, as company financial statements are received. Eligible companies will receive a letter informing them of the outcome of the analysis of their file, whether or not financial assistance has been granted.
