Capital Financière agricole
In 2002, La Financière agricole du Québec created a strategic investment branch, Capital Financière agricole inc. (CFAI), which uses development capital to support profitable and structuring projects that contribute to the growth of the agriculture and agri-food sectors.
In 2006, the CFAI got a second shareholder, Fonds de solidarité FTQ, which acquired 10% of its capital.
CFAI mainly supports food-processing projects that increase market outlets for agricultural products grown and raised in Québec. It can also participate in projects upstream of the primary sector and in the agricultural sector.
